Importer Security Filings

Importer Security Filings, also known as ISFs, are mandated by Customs and Border Protection to be filed for all inbound cargo via vessel, prior to its foreign departure. B.R. Anderson & Co., as agents and Licensed Customs Brokers, will file these forms electronically on behalf of the importer. Here is some of the information needed prior to filing ISF:

  • Seller
  • Buyer
  • Importer of record number / FTZ applicant identification number
  • Consignee number(s)
  • Manufacturer (or supplier)
  • Ship to party
  • Country of origin
  • Commodity Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) number Note: ISF requirement only applies to cargo arriving in the United States by ocean vessel; it does not apply to cargo arriving by other modes of transportation.
