Importer Security Filings, also known as ISFs, are mandated by Customs and Border Protection to be filed for all inbound cargo via vessel, prior to its foreign departure. B.R. Anderson & Co., as agents and Licensed Customs Brokers, will file these forms electronically on behalf of the importer. Here is some of the information needed prior to filing ISF:
- Importer of record number / FTZ applicant identification number
- Consignee number(s)
- Manufacturer (or supplier)
- Ship to party
- Country of origin
- Commodity Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) number Note: ISF requirement only applies to cargo arriving in the United States by ocean vessel; it does not apply to cargo arriving by other modes of transportation.
